Copilot Users Can Now See AI Credits Used Per Billing Cycle

#Copilot#AI Credits#Usage#Billing

GitHub has added a way for Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise users to check how many AI credits they’ve used in the current billing cycle, from the Copilot usage page in GitHub settings. Previously this kind of visibility was mainly geared toward users with an individual spending budget configured; now users without one can also see their own consumption.

Details

  • Who it’s for: Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise users
  • Where to find it: The Copilot usage page under personal settings in GitHub
  • Background: As of June 1, 2026, GitHub Copilot retired Premium Request Units (PRUs) and moved fully to AI Credit-based billing, consumed according to input, output, and cached token usage. Credits reset at the start of each monthly billing cycle, and once the included allotment is used up, users can continue by setting an additional spending budget
  • Why it matters: Whether or not a spending budget is configured, users can now see exactly how many AI credits they’ve burned through, making it easier to avoid unexpected extra charges

How to try it

  • Open the Copilot usage page from GitHub settings to see the AI credits used so far in the current billing cycle
  • To keep using AI credits beyond the included allotment, a spending budget still needs to be configured
