3 Gemini Updates from Galaxy Unpacked 2026
Google unveiled three Gemini-related updates alongside Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked 2026 event, held in London on July 22, 2026. Gemini is being built into the new Galaxy Z Fold8/Flip8 lineup, Galaxy Watch, and new smart eyewear.
Details
- 1. Gemini task automation: Gemini can now complete tasks across more than 40 popular apps, including shopping, dining reservations, travel bookings, and event tickets. On the Galaxy Z Flip8, users can access it via the Flex Window, and Gemini can interpret complex images as prompts. It provides step-by-step progress tracking and lets users intervene before a task completes. Available on the new Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8, and Flip8 (select countries, languages, ages 18+)
- 2. Gemini Notebook on foldables: A research and project management tool preinstalled on the Galaxy Z Fold8 series, taking advantage of the larger display for side-by-side workspaces. It can turn source material into slide decks, videos, flash cards, quizzes, or even a podcast. Eligible devices include a six-month trial of Google AI Pro
- 3. Gemini on wearables and eyewear: Galaxy Watch 9 gets hands-free Gemini activation. New gesture-controlled smart eyewear is coming this fall, compatible with Wear OS watches, with designs from launch partners Gentle Monster and Warby Parker
