Gemini 3.7 Flash Is Now Available in GitHub Copilot
Google’s Gemini 3.7 Flash is now rolling out inside GitHub Copilot, one day after Google’s own launch announcement for the model. GitHub says early testing shows improvements in web and app development and agentic coding workflows compared with the previous version.
Details
- What GitHub says improved: The changelog entry states the model “has made improvements in web and app development and agentic coding workflows over its previous version,” with testers noting gains in “code quality, final-output presentation, codebase research, and verification during complex coding tasks”
- Pricing: Billed on a usage basis at provider list pricing, per GitHub Copilot’s models-and-pricing documentation
- Plan availability: Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise
- Where it works: Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, the GitHub Copilot cloud agent, the GitHub Copilot app, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, and Eclipse
- Rollout status: Gradual — availability may not be immediate for every user
- Off by default for organizations: Business and Enterprise administrators must enable the Gemini 3.7 Flash Preview policy in Copilot settings before members of the organization can use it
How to try it
Individual Pro, Pro+, and Max subscribers can select Gemini 3.7 Flash from Copilot’s model picker as the gradual rollout reaches their account. Business and Enterprise users need their administrator to enable the Gemini 3.7 Flash Preview policy first.
