Genspark Introduces Weekly "Free Quota" for Plus and Pro Members
Genspark introduced “Free Quota” on September 18, 2026, a weekly, no-credit-cost usage allowance for its Plus and Pro membership plans, alongside a change to how unlimited AI Chat and AI Image benefits work for new subscribers.

- What it covers: text and image tasks in Standard mode across Super Agent, AI Slides, AI Sheets, AI Docs, Deep Research, Fact Check, and SecondBrain, plus core models for AI Chat and AI Image, all at no credit cost
- Plan-based allowance: both Plus and Pro include Free Quota, with Pro receiving a weekly balance 10 times larger than Plus
- Weekly reset: each user’s 7-day quota window starts with their first message and resets seven days later
- Automatic fallback: once the free quota is used up, tasks switch to credit-based billing automatically, with an optional “Ask First” setting that prompts for confirmation before credits are spent; media generation (video/audio) always uses credits even though planning is covered
- Grandfathered benefits: existing Plus/Pro members whose subscriptions predate September 18, 2026 keep their previous unlimited AI Chat and AI Image benefits through December 31, 2026, on top of the new Free Quota; new subscribers after that date no longer get unlimited AI Chat/AI Image, though core models remain credit-free
- Unified terms coming: starting January 1, 2027, all Plus and Pro members move to the same AI Chat and AI Image terms
What happened next
The change follows Genspark’s Gen-1 Slides launch earlier in September and reworks how the company balances free usage against its credit system as it scales Super Agent and its other Standard-mode tools. By grandfathering current subscribers through year-end, Genspark is easing the transition while steering new signups toward the quota-plus-credits model going forward.
