Google is rolling out Gemini Omni 1.2 Flash and making it generally available across the Gemini API and Gemini for business. It is the first time Gemini Omni is generally available, backed by Google Cloud infrastructure, with Provisioned Throughput offered.

What’s new

  • Price: Down 30% from Gemini Omni 1.1, at $0.07 per second for 720p video.
  • Longer clips: Native generation and editing up to 15 seconds (up from 10), with duration set in one-second steps from 3 to 15 seconds.
  • Reference adherence: Combine character, product, or style images, motion clips of up to three seconds, and audio cues. Faces, garments, packaging typography, and brand colors are meant to stay consistent across camera angles.
  • Consistency: Less visual drift or morphing from the first to the last frame, including keyframe interpolation and clip extension.
  • Multi-turn editing: Refine the same clip turn by turn (swap a product or background, change lighting or weather, switch aspect ratio) across full 15-second clips.
  • Speech: More natural dialogue, clearer lip-sync, and distinct multi-speaker conditioning.
  • Camera control: Continuous movements such as FPV flythroughs, zoom-outs, and orbits with fewer unwanted jump cuts.
  • Workflow: Draft at 360p or 720p, fix details with a follow-up edit, then upscale to 1080p or 4K. Outputs carry an imperceptible SynthID watermark.

Availability

  • Developers: Google AI Studio and the Gemini API.
  • Businesses: Google Cloud console and API.
  • Google apps: Flow, Google Vids (15-second clips at no additional cost with a Google account or Workspace subscription), the Gemini app (rolling out to Google AI Ultra subscribers), and Google Ads.

Limits

Google says development continues on fast sports action, rapid script changes, and complex physics.
