NotebookLM Announces UI Overhaul and Paid Tier "NotebookLM Plus"
Google announced a major update to NotebookLM. Alongside a redesigned interface, the company added the ability to interrupt Audio Overviews with your voice and introduced its first paid plan, “NotebookLM Plus.”

- UI overhaul: Reorganized into three areas — “Sources” (managing documents), “Chat” (conversation with citations), and “Studio” (content generation) — unifying the flow from asking a question to reviewing sources to organizing ideas
- Interrupting audio: Added an experimental feature allowing users to interrupt an Audio Overview playback with a spoken question, prompting the AI hosts to elaborate or explain from a different angle (rolling out first to newly created notebooks)
- NotebookLM Plus: A paid tier that expands Audio Overviews, notebook count, and source count to more than five times the standard limits, along with customizable response styles, team sharing and analytics, and enhanced security
- Availability: Plus launched first for enterprise users (via Google Workspace and Google Cloud), with expansion to individual Google One AI Premium subscribers planned for early 2025
