Manus Joins Meta in Landmark AI Agent Acquisition
The company behind the general-purpose AI agent Manus has announced it is joining Meta, in a deal reported to be worth more than $2 billion. The acquisition caps a period of rapid growth for Manus, which will continue to operate independently out of Singapore.
Details
- Announcement: Announced December 29, 2025, on the official Manus blog. The company becomes part of the Meta group
- Track record so far: Manus’s agent has processed more than 147 trillion tokens, powered the creation of over 80 million virtual computers, and served millions of users worldwide
- Leadership comment: Manus CEO Xiao Hong said, “Joining Meta allows us to build on a stronger, more sustainable foundation without changing how Manus works or how decisions are made”
- Continuity: The existing subscription service continues through the app and website without disruption, headquarters remain in Singapore, and existing customers are not expected to see any immediate changes
- Looking ahead: Under Meta, Manus is positioned as an “execution layer,” with plans to eventually extend the product to millions of businesses and billions of people across Meta’s platforms
How to try it

- Some deal terms, including the exact purchase price, have not been officially disclosed — media reports place it in the $2-3 billion range
- Reports also indicate Meta is severing ownership ties with Manus’s Chinese investors and winding down the company’s China-based operations
