Manus Adds "Branch" — Split One Conversation Into Multiple Parallel Directions Without Losing Context
Manus has added a new feature called “Branch.” From any message in a conversation, you can now fork a parallel session that inherits all instructions, files, and history up to that point, while the original session stays exactly as it was. That makes it possible to turn a single research session into a report, a slide deck, and an investor brief all at once.
Details
- How it works: Clicking the branch icon beneath any message opens a new parallel session that inherits everything up to that point — instructions, files, and full history
- Effect on the original session: The source session remains untouched, and you can branch from the same point as many times as you like
- Intended use (the “running-record” pattern): One ongoing main session grows into a living project log; whenever you need a specific deliverable, you branch from the current point to produce a plan, a summary, or a presentation
- Coverage: Available to all users in standard Manus chat sessions; not yet supported in Web Builder sessions
How to try it
- Available now with no extra setup in standard Manus chat sessions
- Support for Web Builder sessions is expected at a later date
