David Vélez and Robin Vince Join the Boards of the OpenAI Foundation and OpenAI Group PBC
OpenAI has announced that Nubank founder David Vélez and BNY (formerly Bank of New York Mellon) Chairman and CEO Robin Vince have joined the boards of both the OpenAI Foundation and OpenAI Group PBC. Both bring experience running organizations and building trust across the technology and finance industries.

- David Vélez: A Colombian entrepreneur and founder of Nubank, Latin America’s largest digital bank. He previously worked as a partner at Sequoia Capital and held roles at Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, and General Atlantic. Together with his wife, he leads VélezReyes+, a philanthropic organization focused on democratic governance and education in Latin America
- Robin Vince: Chairman and CEO of BNY, a 240-year-old financial services firm. He spent 26 years at Goldman Sachs as a partner and Management Committee member, holding roles including Chief Risk Officer and COO. He also serves on the boards of the Hospital for Special Surgery and the Perelman Performing Arts Center
