Perplexity's Computer Agent Now Works Directly From Email
Perplexity’s Computer agent platform can now be invoked directly from email, letting users kick off full agent tasks by sending, forwarding, or cc’ing computer@perplexity.com without switching to a separate app.
Details
- Three ways to trigger it: Write a new email describing the task, forward an existing thread, or cc Computer into an ongoing conversation
- Verified, permission-scoped execution: Computer verifies the sender, reads the full thread and any attachments, and runs the task using that person’s own access permissions and connectors — it doesn’t get broader access than the sender already has
- Example tasks: Building financial models such as LBO analyses or DCFs as Excel files, summarizing legal document revisions and tracking open issues, processing email attachments, and producing formatted deliverables (Excel, PDFs, presentations)
- Uses accumulated memory: Computer draws on its memory of prior sessions to apply a team’s terminology, formats, and past decisions when completing email-triggered tasks
- Output: Results post directly back into the email thread, with complex deliverables attached as files; every task also creates a full session viewable on Computer’s mobile and web apps
- Availability: Live today for all Computer users; reply-all support for Enterprise customers is coming
How to try it
- Send a new email to
